John and Elizabeth Green brought ten of their eleven children to settle the new frontier, just east of Summerfield, not far from the site of the old Hunt Gasoline Plant.
Only their eldest son, Wiley, chose to stay in Mississippi. Those who traveled to Claiborne Parish were:
- Nancy M. Green, b. bet. 1812- 1820, m. James Greer,
- Sarah Green, b. abt. 1815, m. Benjamin Franklin Greer,
- Aquilla Green, b. abt. 1815, m. Cynthia Mason,
- Elizabeth Green, b. bet. 1820- 1828, m. Thomas C. Boyt,
- Henry W. Green, b. 1822, m. 1) Easter Young, 2) Martha Ann Chiddens,
- E. G. Green, b. bet. 1820-1825,
- Barzilla Green, b. 1826, m. Susan Elizabeth Boyt,
- Hester Ann Green, b. 1829, m. Alexander Smith,
- William W. Green, b. 1831, m. Martha, and
- Moses Green, b. 1833, m. Missouri Childers.
Susan Elizabeth Boyt was not quite 13 years old when she married 18-year-old Barzilla Green. On the same day his sister Elizabeth Green married her brother, Thomas Boyte.
Over the next 25 years, Barzilla and Susan would have eleven more children: Moses, Francis Marion (m. Martha Hopper), Elizabeth (m. Thomas Pilgreen), Thomas Jefferson, George Washington (m. Mahana Wise), Jasper Newton (m. 1) Zona Gray, 2) Carrie Bodie), Wiley Beauregard (m. Sarah McLeland), James Martin (m. Nattie Moncrief), John Wesley (m. Georgia Tanner), William Jesse (m. Lillian Wise), and Sarah Hester (m. Richard McLeland).
Today all that remains of Barzilla and Susan is a small cemetery on their old homeplace and hundreds of descendants, many who still live here today. In the "Barzille Greene Cemetery" are only four graves surrounded by a chain link fence. The markers bear the names of Barzille, Susan, and two sons, Thomas and Moses.

Moses died when a burning tree fell on him while watching the men fight a fire, just after his mother had refused to give him something to eat. From then on, she always kept something in the house for the kids to snack on, thinking it could have prevented the accident.
