To enter, students must attend the Claiborne Parish Jubilee on Saturday, May 10, then write a short essay on "What I Learned At The 2003 Claiborne Parish Jubilee." |

The focus of the Essay should be on the educational aspects of the Claiborne Parish Jubilee. It can focus on any of the following areas:
- Art Show and Craft Demonstrations
- Educational Activities Available for Youth
- Ford Museum Exhibit or other Displays
- Homer High Drama Club presentation on La. Purchase

The Contest is open to any Claiborne Parish student in grades 5-12 who attends the Claiborne Parish Jubilee on Saturday, May 10. There will be two divisions: Junior High (grades 5-8) and High School (grades 9-12). You cannot enter an Essay if you do not attend the Jubilee.

Requirements (failure to meet any one disqualifies) - Typed or computer-generated, double-spaced, 12 pt. (Times or similar type style), on one side of white paper.
- Write on the designated subject only, based on what YOU learned at the Jubilee.
- On a separate sheet, a brief biographical sketch of the person writing the essay (that includes his or her date of birth, male or female, complete mailing address, and telephone number) must accompany the essay.
- Length - The essay should be no less than 500 nor more than 1000 words.
- Essays will be judged on: (A) educational content; (B) creativity; (C) writing style, and (D) grammar.
- DO NOT put name on front of Essay. Type or neatly print name and phone number on back of Essay. Complete and attach the Essay Cover Sheet below.

Essays must be turned in to your school no later than Monday, May 19, 2003.
