The Claiborne Parish Police Jury Meetings are held on the first Wednesday after the first Sunday each month beginning at 9 AM. Agendas are presented the day before the Wednesday meeting. Meeting Minutes require approval by Jury members prior to presentation and will be available thereafter.

Request from the Claiborne Parish School Board, in a letter received July 21, 2010, seeking assistance with the repairing of the parking lots at Summerfield High School and at Homer High School. The work is to be performed on a reimbursement basis.
Request from the Town of Haynesville , in a letter received July 27, 2010, requesting assistance in repaving the small entrance to the Claiborne Parish Fair Barn livestock area.

Announcement - the Region 4 Police Jury Meeting will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Ruston. Claiborne Parish will be hosting the 2011 Region Meeting.
Announcement - the regular scheduled meeting of the Claiborne Parish Police Jury will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 and at which time the Police Jury also set as the Board of Review.
Acceptance and awarding of the bids for the purchase of Road Materials - Iron Ore, for the one year period of August 4, 2010 to August 3, 2011, for use by the Claiborne Parish Highway Department.
Resolution 2010-015 - A Resolution Calling for a Hearing for Public Input Concerning the Police Jury's 2011 Housing Assistance Programs Annual Plan
Resolution 2010-016 - A Resolution Approving the Holding of an Election in Wards 2 and 3 Recreation District of the Parish of Claiborne, State of Louisiana, on Tuesday, November 10, 2010, to Authorize the Levy of a Special Tax Therein.

Notice of Building & Grounds Committee Meeting
A meeting of the Buildings & Grounds Committee has been called for the afternoon of Monday, August 30, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Police Jury Complex located at 507 West Main Street in Homer, LA.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the following issues with certain Parish owned properties:
Health Unit – possibility of a new phone system
Update on the Jury possibly obtaining the Claiborne Drug Building for use by the DA’s Office
Cleaning Service for the following Police Jury Buildings – Administrative Bldg, Health Unit, Court House, Clerk of Court and Tax Assessor
Update on the Armory Building
Certain Garbage Issues in areas of the Parish
Any other Buildings and Grounds issues

PUBLIC NOTICE - SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE - PUBLIC HEARING
The Claiborne Parish Police Jury has called a hearing to request input from the public about its 2011 Annual Plan that discusses the Mission, Goal and Objectives of the Section 8 Housing Assistance Programs administered by the Claiborne Parish Police Jury. Copies of the proposed annual plan shall be displayed at the Public Hearing at the Section 8 Office located at 621 South Main Street, Homer, Louisiana and at the Police Jury Office Complex located at 507 West Main Street, Homer, Louisiana.
The Hearing will be Held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Police Jury Office Complex located at 507 West Main Street, Homer, Louisiana.

The Claiborne Parish Police Jury Resolves to "Bring It Home"
At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Claiborne Parish Police Jury on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, the Police Jury voted to support Constitutional Amendment # 2 on the November 2, 2010 Election Day Ballot. If passed it will NOT RAISE TAXES but may BRING HOME local dollars to build and maintain roads and bridges in the parish. It will also provide funding for general parish services. Every parish currently receives some portion of this funding but with the current per parish CAP in place, parish by parish funding is limited. If passed, this amendment could mean up to $2,000,000 yearly in additional revenue to the Police Jury; of which over $1,000,000 will be directly dedicated to the improvement Parish roads and bridges.
Police Jury President Scott Davidson states: “I echo my fellow jurors in saying that we are pleased to support this measure. It keeps local dollars local for local needs without raising one penny in taxes". This "fair share" amendment is being supported state wide by parish governments and it's State Board.
Proposed 2010 Proposed Budget
The proposed budget for the calendar year January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010, for the Claiborne Parish Police Jury, has been prepared in conformance with the Provisions of the Louisiana Local Government Budget Act and is available for public inspection at the Police Jury Complex located at 507 West Main Street, Homer, Louisiana, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, (except on Holidays).
