The Claiborne Parish Police Jury Meetings are held on the first Wednesday after the first Sunday each month beginning at 9 AM. Agendas are presented the day before the Wednesday meeting. Meeting Minutes require approval by Jury members prior to presentation and will be available thereafter.

Resolution 2010-003 - Special Resolution honoring the 2009 Louisiana Class A State Football Champions - Haynesville Golden Tornado and Declaring February 10, 2010 as Golden Tornado Day in Claiborne Parish.
Presentation of appreciation plaque to retired Claiborne Parish Highway Department employee Joe Willie Fielding for his 19 plus years of service to the Parish.
Resolution 2010-002 - Resolution to Assume 3.90 miles of LA 807 Beginning 1,250 ft North of the Junction of LA Hwy 2 Alt and Ending at the Arkansas State Line for the Construction of the New Truck By-Pass.
Request from the Lincoln Parish Police Jury, in a letter dated February 11, 2010, requesting that the Claiborne Parish Police Jury adopt a resolution requesting the LA Department of Natural Resources, Office of Conservation to consider the potential damage to the Sparta Aquifer and take necessary measures to monitor its quality and quantity and to protect it from depletion as a result of the drilling and hydraulic fracturing process in the oil and gas industry. Pine Hill Water System - status of needed repairs to above ground water storage tank and the possible help the Police Jury could provide them.
Acceptance and awarding of lowest qualified bid for the purchase of a new wheel loader for the Claiborne Parish Highway Department.
Acceptance and awarding of lowest qualified bids for the purchase of culverts - galvanized and plastic type - for use by the Claiborne Parish Highway Department for the 2010 year.
Issuance of a letter on behalf of the Claiborne Parish Police Jury to Dr. Allen Nipper and Dr. Bobby H. Fletcher with the LSU Ag Center stating the importance of and the Police Jury's commitment to the Ag Center here in Claiborne Parish in the hopes of expediting the naming of a new Claiborne Parish Chair here at the Extension Office.
Announcement - deadline for Jurors to file Tier 3 Personal Financial Disclosure as required by LSA-R.S. 42:11124.3 is May 15, 2010. The form was included in this month's meeting packet; see Secretary-Treasurer Woodard for help in filling out the required form.
Request from Claiborne Parish Highway Superintendent Tommy Durrett for merit raises for the following two truck drivers at the Highway Department who have completed their probation period - Cory Lee an increase of $0.75 per hour to $10.75 per hour and Todd Brown an increase of $0.25 per hour to $10.75 per hour. These increases would become effective on March 22, 2010.
Request from the Town of Haynesville to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Claiborne Parish Police Jury to provide the Town a "council-certified building official" or a "certified building inspector" as mandated and imposed under LA - R.S. 40:1730.25 under the Parish's Building Code Agreement with IBTS of Bossier City, LA. There will be NO cost to the Parish and NO cost to the Town - the Police Jury Administration Office will serves as the permitting office for the Town of Haynesville.
Consideration of a possible public education alternatives that will help remind the citizens of the parish to remove their trash bins from parish road right-of-ways within 24 hour of trash pick-up to help alleviate the safety issue of trash bins being left on the side of the road at all times.

Proposed 2010 Proposed Budget
The proposed budget for the calendar year January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010, for the Claiborne Parish Police Jury, has been prepared in conformance with the Provisions of the Louisiana Local Government Budget Act and is available for public inspection at the Police Jury Complex located at 507 West Main Street, Homer, Louisiana, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, (except on Holidays).
